  • What is RallyCross?
  • Do I have to be a member of the SCCA?
    • While we love to grow the community of the SCCA, and would love to have you join us, you do not need to be a member in order to race.
  • How do I register for events?
    • Pre-registration is done through DLBRacing.com. 
    • Race Day registration is done at the registration/check-in booth at the venue
  • How much does it cost?
    • $40 for SCCA Members
    • $60 for non-SCCA Members
  • Can I bring my street car?
    • A RallyCross event is open to any fixed-roof, four-wheeled, mass-produced passenger vehicle (including convertibles with a factory hardtop attached, targa-typeswith factorypanel inplace,t‐topswithfactorypanelsinplace)that can pass safety inspection. If the Event Chairman after consultation with the Event Safety Steward determines at his discretion that a vehicle cannot safely negotiate the course, it may be excluded.
  • Will I break my car?
    • While there is some risk involved in any form of racing, many of racers only have to replace maintenance parts throughout an entire season.
  • What Equipment Do I need?
    • A car and a helmet! If you do not already own a helmet, we have several loaners that can be provided for the beginning racers!
  • What if I already have a helmet?
    • Helmets can be open or closed faced, but must meet at least one of the below certified standard:
      • SNELL:
        • SA2015, SA2010, SA2005
        • SAH2015, SAH2010
        • M2015, M2005, M2000
        • K2015, K2010, K2005
      • SFI:
        • 31.1, 31.1A
        • 31.2A
        • 41.1, 41.1A, 41.2A
      • British:
        • BS6658-85 type A/FR
  • Is there an official rulebook?
  • What are the classes?
    • There are major classes (Stock, Prepared, Modified) that are split by the drivetrain (All Wheel, Front Wheel, Rear Wheel) types. So, there are technically, nine total classes for SCCA RallyCross (SA, SF, SR, PA, PF, PR, MA, MF, MR).
  • What is a Season?
    • A season is all of the races which are scheduled between January and the date of the regions annual awards ceremony (typically in December).
  • How do points work?
    • Points are awarded per event attended, and accumulate towards the total amount earned for the season. At the end of the season, the driver for each class with the most points is awarded the championship trophy.
  • How are points awarded?
    • We follow the standard CFR points structure, and accumulate points in the following manner:
      • 1st place = 25 points
      • 2nd ” = 21 points
      • 3rd ” = 18 points
      • 4th ” = 17 points
      • 5th ” = 16 points
      • 6th ” = 15 points
      • 7th ” = 14 points
      • 8th ” = 13 points
      • 9th ” = 12 points
      • 10th ” = 11 points
      • 11th ” = 10 points
      • 12th ” = 9 points
      • 13th ” = 8 points
      • 14th ” = 7 points
      • 15th ” = 6 points
      • 16th ” = 5 points
      • 17th ” = 4 points
      • 18th ” = 3 points
      • 19th ” = 2 points
      • 20th and below = 1 point
