RallyCross is racing against the clock on dirt. We lay out a course with cones, send cars through one at a time, and see who can get around it fastest. No wheel-to-wheel racing, no risky jumps, and no co-driver yelling pace notes at you.
Central Florida Region SCCA puts on RallyCross events at sites around Florida. Our venues can change as new places become available, so the best way to find out where we’re racing next is to check the current calendar.
You probably already own a RallyCross car
Most of the cars at our events are daily drivers. They race on Saturday and go right back to commuting on Monday—usually still dirty.
You don’t need to build a dedicated race car before you come out. If the car you already have is eligible and mechanically sound, there’s a good chance you can start with that. Check the current rules or ask us if you’re not sure.
Never raced before? You won’t be the only one.
We get first-timers at just about every event. Show up ready to learn and we’ll help you figure out the rest.
You’ll walk the course before you drive it, learn how the event works, make your runs, and spend part of the day helping operate the event alongside everyone else. Ask questions. Talk to people. Nobody expects you to arrive already knowing how to RallyCross.
Why RallyCross?
It’s fun, it’s competitive, and there’s always something to learn. The surface changes throughout the day, the grip changes with it, and every run gives you another chance to figure out where you left some time.
You’ll chase tenths of a second all day, then compare notes with the same people you’re trying to beat.
Ready to try it?
Start with what you’ve got. Check that your car is eligible, make sure it’s mechanically sound, and sign up for an event. Don’t worry about building the perfect RallyCross car before you’ve ever RallyCrossed it.
Come out, learn how the day works, make some runs, talk to people, and see what you think. You can worry about getting faster later.
Want RallyCross closer to home?
So do we! CFR RallyCross is always looking for more places to race throughout Florida. If you own a property that might work—or just know of a place we should look at—send it our way.
